Are you looking for a canalside home?

How to get lists of canalside homes for sale.

Are you looking for a canalside home?
A beautiful canalside house with a private mooring (this one is not for sale at the moment)

You're in the right place!

As far as I know, I am the only person in the UK providing lists of canalside property in the UK, personally researched by a human. There is no better way to keep up-to-date with what's for sale along the canal.

It costs just £5 a month. You can unsubscribe at any time - no minimum period!

My name is Sheridan, and over the years I have helped many people to buy their perfect canalside home. I thoroughly research the whole market and share everything I find with my subscribers.

Me and my husband, Mike

You can stop at any time

Most people cancel their subscription because they have found a property. I love to hear from my readers that they are buying a house which they found through my website. Sometimes a change of circumstances means that someone stops looking. There is no tie and no catch.

😜
N.B. if you only subscribe for my free posts you won't get the property lists!

When I post

My lists are released on my website and by email, weekly at minimum, daily when I'm on a roll. My research is manual, not automated, so it can take me a long time - up to six hours a day when the market is moving fast!

Each post covers a particular price range or property type. On average, a complete a round of four to eight posts covering the entire sprectrum of prices takes me 10 days or so.

What I include

My fall-back policy for including a property is always, "If this was in my budget, would I want to view it?"

  • I include houses, bungalows, properties with moorings, apartments, retirement properties, land, development opportunities, park homes, and occasionally business premises.
  • I prefer to include properties on the offside of the canal, ideally with mooring potential, but I do include quite a few towpath side properties - especially if they have outstanding canal views.
  • Freeholds and leaseholds for sale by private treaty (normal sales), auction, or tender.
  • Properties are almost invariably in England, Wales, or Scotland, but occasionally I share something further afield, just for fun!

What I don't include

As this is a personally researched and curated list, I may choose not to include some properties with poor views, serious drawbacks, or negative features. I also avoid:

  • Narrowboats and houseboats (unless they are included with the property).
  • Shared ownership houses and flats.
  • Holiday rentals.

Why do I do this?

I love helping other people to live their dream! I don't have any staff and I run my website entirely by myself. I also use this space to share my personal interests and hobbies, including genealogy. What you see is what you get!

I live and breathe property - as does my husband, who is a mortgage advisor. We live beside the Coventry Canal, and we have previously owned a narrowboat - sometimes we get itchy feet and want to buy one again!

I am not an estate agent now, although I have been in the past. I still provide freelance services such as viewings, floor plans, and 360 photography (I love doing 360s of narrowboats too!)
