Riverside Town Jigsaw
A beautiful narrowboat themed puzzle with art by Angela Holland.
I'm excited to share the latest jigsaw I've found. I love this one! It depicts a narrowboat called Lady Raven, brightly decorated with floral patterns, and a Dutch trawler style boat, designated AHY 1015. I always wonder whether little touches like this are significant to the artist...
The pair are moored at a cute little wharf, undoubtedly fictional. The town is picture-book perfect, with cobbled streets, multicoloured cottages, bunting, and a Union Jack. There are three shops facing the water, a Patisserie Bakery, a bookshop called Betters Books, and a florist called Fantastic Flowers, all with their pretty window boxes in full bloom.
There are lots of enjoyable characters to piece together, and a host of ducks and swans in the foreground. The colour palette is rich and vibrant, mainly greens, paired with maroon, brick red, and warm pinks.
Angela Holland, the artist, is a freelance illustrator, writer, fine artist, and textile designer. She lives in Nottingham and works in her studio. She has a BA Hons in Fashion and Textiles specialising in surface pattern design and also an MA in children's writing. Angela illustrates for cards, wrapping paper, fabric, textiles, editorial and children's books, and of course, puzzles!
Riverside Town is one of the many picturesque and high-quality puzzles produced by Ravensburger, a well-known German manufacturer. Ravensburger puzzles are among my favourites to handle. Their technology and premium pieces ensure that each piece fits together perfectly.
